CICLIC Centre-Val de Loire
CICLIC Centre-Val de Loire, the regional agency for books and images, provides public cultural services and is jointly run by the Centre-Val de Loire Region and the French State. It is presided by Julie Gayet and directed by Philippe Germain.
The agency offers a wide range of services and activities, which range from administering funds to support the film, audiovisual and book sectors, to helping film artists and professionals to consolidate their careers and projects through training, residencies and arts education programmes. CICLIC Centre-Val de Loire enables as many people as possible to access to films and literary works throughout this largely rural region.
For around 20 years, CICLIC has also been involved in collecting, cataloguing, digitising and showcasing archive footage. The “Mémoire CICLIC” archive offers a fresh perspective on history, with around 14,000 amateur archive films from the 1920s onwards, including previously unseen footage; as well as a digital “Mémoire Pro” platform for industry professionals, so they can search for and access films quickly and easily, with a dedicated team to respond to their needs (based in Issoudun).
