About

AMORCE, THE REGIONAL FILM HERITAGE PLATFORM

The AMORCE platform, which is run by the Diazinteregio network, allows users to consult all the film heritage collections held by Diazinteregio network members in one place. Each member organisation is responsible for showcasing its collections and is free to publish its archives on the platform. As each film library may have different policies regarding the public communication and use of its audiovisual archives, please contact our network members to enquire about their policy if you would like to reuse the documents that you have discovered on www.amorce.eu.
The platform is organised
by theme with a simple search tool to enable everyone - researchers, students, film directors, media researchers and the general public - to access the archives on the places and topics that they wish to explore easily and free of charge.

The platform remains open for other regional film heritage collections to present and promote their collections using the OAI-PMH protocol. If your film library or archive would like to join us on the www.amorce.eu platform, please contact us at contact@diazinteregio.org.

The AMORCE platform is supported by the French State as part of the “Digitisation of heritage and architecture” scheme for cultural and creative industries (CCIs), under the France 2030 programme, operated by the Caisse des Dépôts.

DIAZINTEREGIO, THE REGIONAL FILM HERITAGE NETWORK
Since 2010, DIAZINTEREGIO has brought together French-speaking film libraries and archives to share regional film heritage, using its collection management tool, DIAZ.

19 organisations and around 70 employees play an active role in the network and have compiled a collection of over 150,000 audiovisual documents.

A COOPERATIVE AND COHESIVE NETWORK
Diazinteregio enables its members to pool their practices and methodologies,
creating a unique space to share knowledge, train and design regional film heritage projects.
By bringing together film libraries and archives, Diazinteregio encourages inter-regional cooperation.

One network - National coverage - Close-knit network - Shared costs - Common standards - User community

DIAZ, THE REGIONAL FILM HERITAGE DATABASE
The DIAZ database was specifically designed to
index and showcase regional film heritage (amateur films, activist films, regional productions, etc.).
It is tailored to the needs of audiovisual archive management centres, allowing them to register collections of films, photos or non-film items (posters, documentation, equipment, etc.).
DIAZ is also a management tool that enables centres to monitor all their workshops and cultural outreach activities, as well as to track image sales requested by users.

Extendable - Adaptable - Interoperable – Controlled tool - Harvesting – Accessible

In my opinion, DIAZ’s main strength is that it was designed and engineered to meet user needs. It’s not just an information technology tool that we must adapt to.” - CICLIC

I appreciate how easy it is to access the DIAZ database, as well as the ‘logic’ behind the tool (relational database). The display format is very pleasant and easy to modify, so we can obtain a customised overview of all the films we have uploaded. Adding new keywords is also very simple.” - Autrefois Genève

“Dare I say that it is the only database that took into account the specific features of amateur films, right from the start, and that offers a powerful multi-criteria search tool and easy-to-use results with terms highlighted in the summary.” - Normandie Images
