Centre audiovisuel Simone de Beauvoir

The Centre Audiovisuel Simone de Beauvoir (CaSdB) is a video and film resource centre that focuses on women, feminism, history, rights, art, sport, work, the human body, etc. The centre’s activities include:

Distribution of films and videos
Programming, searching for archive footage
Training for adults
Workshops for schoolchildren
Monthly screenings and gatherings
Film screenings and workshops with detainees
Filming, montages and live recordings of feminist events.

The CaSdB has also created Genrimages, an educational website to raise awareness among schoolchildren and young people and help them analyse gender stereotypes in audiovisual content, through moving image education and by deconstructing cliches about gender and sexual orientation.
